Pinckneyville Democrat, Dec 20, 1917
Article about film and salesman promoting Perfection Tires shown in the Opera House, now called The HARRIETT THEATER
GREAT LAKES NAVAL BAND Plays at the Harriet Theatre
April 25, 1918
The article mentions the size of the crowd and that several hundred people had to remain outside in the street because the Opera House (Harriet Theatre) was filled to capacity for the performance. Several other articles mention how gatherings were held in the Theatre to send soldiers off to WW1, including an all black unit. There was a gathering at the Opera House and then they had a parade with band to the railroad station to wish them off and for a safe return from France.
